JOIN THE DEÁK17 GALÉRIA VOLUNTEER COMMUNITY
As a volunteer at Deák17 Galéria, you can become an active part of our exhibitions, events and educational programmes, while gaining first-hand insight into the everyday workings of a contemporary art institution.
Volunteers contribute to welcoming visitors, supporting the delivery of public programmes and events, and creating a welcoming and engaging experience for our audiences. During the summer months, there are also opportunities to contribute to the organisation of our summer camps and to assist with hands-on art and craft workshops.
We value our volunteers not only for the support they provide, but also for the ideas, perspectives and energy they bring to our community. We encourage volunteers to take an active role and contribute their own creativity and initiative to the life of the Gallery.
Areas you can get involved in
Depending on your interests and experience, you may contribute to:
- preparing and supporting arts education programmes,
- assisting with events and public programmes,
- documenting events through photography,
- creating content for the Gallery’s social media channels,
- supporting the delivery of workshops and educational activities,
- reception and administrative tasks,
- welcoming guests and assisting with catering arrangements.

Who are we looking for?
Our volunteer programme is for people with an interest in contemporary visual art, arts education, cultural life and event organisation, who are curious, engaged and keen to become part of a creative and open community. In general welcome volunteers for a six-month period.
We are looking for people who are:
- reliable and punctual,
- flexible and adaptable,
- comfortable working both independently and as part of a team,
- creative and proactive,
- open and confident in communicating with others.

Please include:
- your CV,
- a motivation letter (maximum one page),
- a portfolio, if you are applying for a photography or communications role,
- your availability and the period during which you would be able to volunteer,
- a brief description of your relevant experience and the areas or activities you would be interested in contributing to.
Please submit your application at least two weeks before your preferred start date. If you need to cancel an agreed volunteering date, please let us know at least 48 hours in advance.
Please note that photographs may be taken at the Gallery and during our programmes and events. By registering for a programme, participants consent to being photographed and to the use of these images in the Gallery’s communication materials and press coverage.
